Add and Delete Performance Indicator Data

You can add and delete data for a performance indicator on the Data tab. You can also use the Data tab to create a rollup performance indicator that aggregates data from other, child performance indicators.

A PRC Platform Module and Collaborator, Designer, or Architect license (or equivalent User Extensions) is required to edit Performance Indicator data.

The way that you interact with data on this tab depends on the type of data that you select in the Type of Data drop-down list on the Settings tab, as described in the following sections.

The Data tab allows you to specify all four different types of data for a single performance indicator, all of which persists in the repository. Changing the Type of Data setting on the Settings tab also changes the performance indicator's rating values and chart to correspond with the data that is present for the selected type. Since all the data persists in the repository, you can switch among the four types of data without worrying about losing any data.

Time-Based (Numeric)

To enter time-based data, you can enter a set of values by entering date/time and numerical value pairs in the Date and Value (number) fields.

  • To set a date and time for a data entry, first select a date using the date picker that appears when you click in the Date field. The date you select populates the field, along with a time value of 00:00:00. If you need to specify a specific time of day, edit the time value manually.
  • To specify a value, type a number in the Value field.
  • When you have entered the date/time and value pair, click ADD DATA POINT. The values you add appear just below the Date and Value (number) fields, and at the top of the list of any other data values that may be listed for this performance indicator.

To delete a time-based value from this performance indicator, click DELETE to the right of it.

Click EDIT to modify a data point.

Time-Based (Text)

Selecting Time-Based (Text) data lets you add content for a text-based result report on this performance indicator.

To enter time-based text, you can enter a set of values by entering date/time values and explanatory text in the Date and Value (text) fields, respectively.

  • To set a date and time for a data entry, first select a date using the date picker that appears when you click in the Date field. The date you select populates the field, along with a time value of 00:00:00. If you need to specify a specific time of day, edit the time setting manually.
  • To specify a value, type some explanatory text in the Value (text) field.
  • When you have entered the date/time and value pairs, click ADD DATA POINT. The values you add appear just below the Date and Value (text) fields, and at the top of the list of any other text values that may be listed for this performance indicator.

To delete a time-based text value from this performance indicator, click DELETE to the right of it.

Click EDIT to modify a data point.

Category-Based

Selecting Category-based data lets you add numerical data corresponding to categories that you define.

To enter category-based data, you can enter a set of values by typing a category name in the Category field, and entering a numeric value in the Value (number) field, then click ADD DATA POINT. The values you add appear just below the Category and Value (number) fields, and at the top of the list of any other category-based data that may be listed for this performance indicator.

You can sort the data in this list by drag and dropping up or down the Hamburger icon

next to any data point.

To delete a category-based value from this performance indicator, click DELETE to the right of it.

Click EDIT to modify a data point.

Rollup

Selecting Rollup lets you combine, or roll up, multiple child performance indicators in the repository tree hierarchy into a single, aggregated performance indicator. See Create a Rollup Performance Indicator for more information on this type of data.
