The following specifications refer to the components that are installed on a end user device to provide the iGrafx Desktop Client functionality.

Please additionally check system requirements for your chosen Operating System. The system requirements of the Operating System supersede the iGrafx® System Requirements. The below requirements define the available free resources available for the operation of the specified iGrafx® software component.

Import / Export Microsoft® Access Database, requires Microsoft Access 2007 or later.

Import / Export Microsoft Excel data, requires Microsoft Excel 2007 or later.

Import Microsoft Outlook® data, requires Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later.

Publishing to Adobe® Acrobat® format

Acrobat Reader Version 10 or later is recommended to view published PDF files.

Publishing to Microsoft Word® and Microsoft PowerPoint®

Local installation of Microsoft Office 2007 or later is required to publish DOC and PPT files.

Publishing as Web Page (Java)/Publishing a Web Project

Oracle® Java™ Runtime Environments and Java Applet Support

Public updates for Oracle® Java™ Runtime Environment version 1.8 (Long Term Support) released after January 2019 will not be available for business, commercial or production use without a commercial license from Oracle.   The Publish as Web Page (Java)/Publish Web Project features depend on Java Applets, and the ability to execute them was deprecated by Oracle in Java 9, and removed completely in Java 11.

Microsoft®, Google®, Mozilla® and Apple® have also removed support of NPAPI Plugins in the latest versions of their browsers - a technology necessary for Java Applets to work.  As a result, customers running the latest versions of these browsers can not use Publish as Web Page (Java) and Publish Web Project.

iGrafx SharePoint® Compatibility

iGrafx supports integration with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and 2013.


Customer-deployed Platform as a Service (PaaS) web application services and PaaS database providers like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud are NOT supported.

If you require a cloud based solution you must use the services instead.

We do support the use of virtualized servers, also known as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), to host the web application server or the database server.

Version Compatibility

We recommend using the same version of the iGrafx Desktop Client and the iGrafx Platform. For the best user experience always use the latest available versions of all licensed products.

If the combination of the iGrafx Desktop Client and the iGrafx Platform versions are not compatible, the client won't be able to connect and an error message will be displayed informing the user about the incompatibility. If you use an older iGrafx Desktop Client connecting to a newer iGrafx Platform the connection may work but new features won't be available from the client and some existing features may become unavailable until you upgrade the iGrafx Desktop Client.



Platform is fully qualified and full support will be provided for platform specific issues.


Platform specific issues will be investigated and supported where possible.
