Desktop Client: Crash with error message "Fatal program error 0xC0000005 when running a simulation"

Problem

The iGrafx Desktop Client crashes with an error message
Fatal program error 0xC0000005 when running a simulation 

Solution

Before running the simulation make sure to check your diagram for possible errors. In the menu bar of the Desktop Client:

  1. Open the IGX diagram that you want to run the simulation for
  2. Click MODEL
  3. Select CHECK 

If a "No errors found" message appears but you still receive a fatal error when you run the simulation a possible cause is a swimlane in a sub-process. 
In that case the solution is to remove the swimlane from the sub-process and run the simulation again
