Desktop Client: How do I repair my installation of iGrafx?
If you are experiencing problems that are likely related to a bad installation of iGrafx, such as missing templates or menu items, errors when starting the software, etc. you may wish to do a repair install or uninstall/re-install. Please note that you need to have proper permissions (e.g. Administrator rights) to properly install or repair software.
If you are unfamiliar w/how to do a repair install, & don't have an Information Technology (IT) person to help, some quick instructions on how to do this are as follows:
- Ensure iGrafx is NOT running, that you have your iGrafx CD or other installation files handy, and that you have Administrator rights (permissions) to your machine.
- Follow these instructions in Windows 10 or the equivalent steps in an older version of Windows:
On the Start menu, enter Control Panel in the search box and select Control Panel from the results.
Select Programs > Programs and Features, and then select the program.
To fix the program, select Repair or, if that’s not available, Change.
Wait for the installer to finish its preparations.
- In the iGrafx Setup dialog box, it should list choices for Application Maintenance. Choose Repair.
- Click Next, and follow the instructions of the installation wizard.
If this doesn't help, totally uninstall iGrafx and then re-install iGrafx.
