Client: Does publishing to PDF support archive format like PDF/A?

For PDF/A, the primary goal is to make the PDF self-contained. Here's how the iGrafx graphical diagramming client (e.g. FlowCharter) addresses PDF publishing and issues in PDF/A:

  • iGrafx embeds fonts (PDF/A requires font embedding)
  • iGrafx does not use audio or video in the PDF (PDF/A requires no audio/video)
  • iGrafx includes a color profile (PDF/A requires that)
  • iGrafx does not encrypt (PDF/A requires no encryption)
  • iGrafx optionally uses JavaScript for menus, so you can choose not to use JavaScript (PDF/A forbids JavaScript)

We hope this is helpful information in assessing your PDF archiving format needs.
