New to Early Access, Layers allow diagram viewers to visualize diagram element custom properties over a web diagram. The new button in the diagram area gives users the ability to choose what data is most relevant to them and see it in the context of the process flow.
This tailored experience automatically accounts for potentially redundant Display Field information that may already be showing. This also prevents users from having to create new versions of diagrams with certain data showing to accommodate the different needs of their coworkers.
Comments
Comment resolution is now available for both Web and IGX diagrams. After a comment has been addressed, and the suggested edits complete, users with permission to do so may resolve those comments. In the Comment List you can see a list of comments that are pending and resolved. If a comment is mistakenly resolved, deleted, or unresolved, users who own or watch the diagram and the original commenter will receive new email notifications. This helps users keep track of the conversation surrounding a diagram. Deletion is still an option, now located in the "..." popup.
Users can now snap comments to diagram elements so that when a those elements move, the comments moves with them.
It is now possible to configure a report to see open comments in the repository. This helps users find the diagrams that have comments that have not yet been resolved.
UX Improvements
External File Cycles
New voting UI on external file previews lets users know they have to participate in a cycle. Users can see what cycle is in-progress and gives them the opportunity to vote and comment without having to navigate away from the file. Cycles are no longer interactions to search for but are now conveniently presented.
Instructions for voting improvements...
This voting interface is currently only available via the My To-do List feature. To access it you must do the following:
When notified of your inclusion in an Approval cycle for an external file, go to the profile menu
Click My To-do List to see the cycle information
Click the item to see your options, then click VIEW ITEM
This will take you to the new voting interface where you can conveniently inspect the external file, add any comments and submit your vote.
History
Object history now includes the details of custom property changes and now includes summary, purpose and instruction changes. Version comparisons now default to full compare mode with changes outlined in the grid and additional filtering options.
Instructions for History improvements...
To view these changes to History:
Navigate to a checked-in diagram
Access the History tab (if you are in the diagramming area, first expand the flyout menu)
Review the Timeline for the version you want to explore, then click COMPARE
Double-check the version you would like to compare in the Compare dialog, then click COMPARE VERSIONS
Now you can see the Object-level data, Summary, Purpose, Instructions and Custom Properties, included in the version coparison.
Additional UI Languages
The user interface now includes Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Portuguese, Swedish, and Turkish as language options. To adjust your display language:
Navigate to My Profile
In the Settings tab, under Display Language, you will find a drop-down menu with your currently selected language
This menu now includes 8 more languages to choose from.
