Start creating diagrams in record time straight from the Dashboards area with this all new gadget. New users can get busy mapping processes seconds after their first login and expert users will enjoy how much faster they can get to work.
When configuring the Quick Start gadget a default folder can be set for any new diagrams created. This allows users to cut down on the time and clicks spent navigating to the Model area, browsing the Tree and selecting a folder. Now you can deal with file organization after you get your process knowledge captured, while the idea is still fresh.
Navigation Gadget
Display navigational diagrams from the Dashboard area with a new, highly configurable diagram gadget. This is a great way to provide a process house to coworkers by linking diagrams to other diagrams. Navigate easily between sub-processes with the navigation bar. Step back, return to the top level with "Home" and click "Open" to review the full diagram. Configure gadgets to show or hide linked objects for either a streamlined or comprehensive view of processes.
SOP & Narrative
The new View SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) button in the diagramming area shows diagram-level process data through a designed report. This data tool is intended to show pared down information like the process summary, purpose, instructions, etc. so users can quickly understand the context of the diagram they are reviewing.
Also new to the diagramming area is the Narrative Panel. Similar in function to the View SOP button, but especially useful for reviewing shape-level data. Simply select a shape you would like to review, open the Narrative Panel, and see everything that it has to offer. Selecting other shapes refreshes the panel so you can easily review the various steps in a process.
Default narrative reports can be adjusted in Repository Configuration under Advanced. Here users with permission can select existing narrative reports and set them as the new default template.
Narrative Template reports can now be created for shape content. Previewing a Shape narrative template will take you to the selected diagram with the Narrative panel expanded. This preview allows you to select shapes and test your new report.
Browsing iGrafx Guides
New to the Info Center is a series of guides that familiarize users with iGrafx as the hub for their process knowledge. The guides detail different methods of finding content, reading diagrams, understanding their organization's architecture, and demonstrating advanced tools and tricks.
Path Stepper
Paths are now in the Languages Grid. In addition to being able to translate them one at a time, you can now translate paths via the grid. With this, the import and export for diagram translations also supports path names.
The selection functionality of the Paths tool now accounts for clicking lines as well as shapes. Now, if you click a line in a defined path, the Paths tool will keep your place rather than deselect.
Comments
New to the Cloud, for both Web and IGX diagrams, is comment resolution. After a comment has been addressed, and the suggested edits complete, users with permission to do so may resolve those comments. In the Comment List you can see a list of comments that are pending and resolved. If a comment is mistakenly resolved, deleted, or unresolved, users who own or watch the diagram and the original commenter will receive new email notifications. This helps users keep track of the conversation surrounding a diagram. Deletion is still an option, now located in the "..." popup.
Users can now snap comments to diagram elements so that when a those elements move, the comments moves with them.
It is now possible to configure a report to see open comments in the repository. This helps users find the diagrams that have comments that have not yet been resolved.
Layers (Early Access)
New to Early Access, Layers allow diagram viewers to visualize diagram element custom properties over a web diagram. The new button in the diagram area gives users the ability to choose what data is most relevant to them and see it in the context of the process flow.
This tailored experience automatically accounts for potentially redundant Display Field information that may already be showing. This also prevents users from having to create new versions of diagrams with certain data showing to accommodate the different needs of their coworkers.
Other Enhancements
External File Preview
Users now have the ability to jump to external file from the file preview if not already viewing it. Also, the Action Required notice appears in files previews if there are open actions. These can be resolved by jumping to the file or exiting the preview if already there.
Deleted users in Cycle groups
Cycle groups now highlight deleted users, and prompts cycle managers to edit cycle groups with deleted users. If you edit groups with deleted users and save changes, it notifies you that a deleted users will be removed.
To-do List
When navigating to a file in need of attention in the To-do list, users can view those files and download them directly from the list, rather than having to navigate to the file's location.
