Antivirus scanning

On iGrafx-hosted (Cloud) instances, the platform scans external files for malware when they're uploaded and downloaded.

info

Cloud only — this feature is for iGrafx-hosted (Cloud) instances.

Prerequisites

  • An administrator enables the feature in Admin → Server Settings → General Configuration — the toggle is at the bottom of the tab.

Steps

There's nothing to do per file: once an administrator turns the feature on, scanning happens automatically on upload and download.

On upload

After you upload a file, the scanner checks it against known attack vectors before adding it to the repository. You can open the associated repository object while the scan runs, but you can't preview or download the file until the scan finishes. Follow progress with Show Details in the notification at the lower right.

A scan takes anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. When it finishes, each file shows a success checkmark or a failure warning.

Even if a file is marked infected, the object itself stays available, including any summary, purpose, or other properties. The object's Checkout Information section shows the file's scanning status.

info

If a scan fails for any reason (infected or otherwise), you can't download or preview the file until you upload a new version with safe content — you can't update an existing version's content. This limitation also applies to the quick-access popups elsewhere in the application.

On download

Because virus definitions change over time, the platform also scans files on download — with the same experience as upload. Once a scan completes and the file is safe, the download proceeds automatically.

Limitations

  • No scanning is applied when external files are uploaded or downloaded via the REST API or the iGrafx Desktop Client.
  • Other locations where files can be uploaded or downloaded aren't protected.
  • Files over 1 GB can't be processed, and there's a 230-second timeout — so your upload speed may be the limiting factor.
  • The upload/download notification doesn't persist if you navigate to a different main area (such as DashboardDashboard A configurable view in Process360 Live that aggregates KPIs, charts, and filters across one or more processes for stakeholders to monitor performance. or Model) after starting the action. The action still completes; check its status in the file's Checkout Information section.
  • A password-encrypted file (for example a ZIP archive) can't be scanned, so it's treated as safe.
