Simulation fails with a WebSocket connection error

Symptom​

A simulation fails to start and reports a WebSocket connection failure, for example:

HubConnection failed. Your network may be blocking connections from urls beginning with wss:

Cause​

Running a simulation requires a WebSocket connection between your browser and the simulation engine. A firewall, antivirus product, or proxy that blocks wss: connections prevents the run from starting.

Resolution​

  1. Check whether a firewall or antivirus product on your machine or network blocks WebSocket connections; if you're unsure, contact your IT department.
  2. Once WebSocket connections are allowed, run the simulation again.
  3. If the error persists with WebSockets allowed, contact iGrafx Support.
