Configure glossaries
Glossaries collect the terms your organization uses. Each glossary term is an enterprise object in the repository, so it carries its own description, relationships, and permissions. With glossary auto-linking, the text on a diagram shape links automatically to the matching term, so a reader can open the definition without leaving the diagram.
This page covers turning auto-linking on and choosing which glossaries apply. The setting is repository-wide.
Prerequisites
- The Manage Repository Configuration repository permission — see Assigning Security Roles.
Steps
In the Repository area, select Glossaries.
Turn on glossary auto-linking
Under Glossary auto-linking, set Behavior:
- All glossaries — link terms from every glossary in the repository.
- Selected — link terms only from the glossaries you choose, then pick them under Select glossaries.
- Off — don't link glossary terms in diagrams.
Auto-linking applies to the text on diagram shapes across the repository. The links respect permissions, so each reader sees only links to glossary content they can open.
