Customize the platform

The Customization area brands and tunes the platform for your organization — from logos and colors to the links in the navigation bar.

Prerequisites

  • The Can Customize server permission.

Steps

Open Admin → Customization; each tab below is one task.

Appearance

  • Theme — select the Global Theme used by the platform. Repositories can override it with their own theme.
  • Upload a Microsoft Word Theme for platform exports — a .dotx or .docx file whose styling (heading sizes, colors) is applied to Word exports of narratives.
  • Navbar Logo and Login Logo — upload your own PNG or JPG (up to 1 MB). Images taller than 32 pixels (navbar) or 92 pixels (login) are scaled down, so resize before uploading for best results.

The Appearance tab with the Global Theme selector, the Word theme upload, and the navbar and login logo sections.

Add your own hyperlinks, with icons, to the top navigation bar — an intranet, a help desk, a process portal. Each link takes a name, a URL (http:, https:, or mailto:), an optional icon (PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, or BMP; scaled to 32 pixels), whether it opens in a new tab, and whether it shows everywhere or only in one repository. Drag links to reorder them.

Chart Color Schemes

Define the color palettes charts use: create a scheme, add colors by hex value, and drag to reorder them. Make Default sets the platform-wide default — marked Default Scheme — and repositories can pick their own. A scheme that's in use warns before deletion, and the default scheme can't be deleted.

User Display Names

Choose how user names appear across the platform with format codes — %f first name, %l last name, %u username, %e email — with a live preview of your own name. The default is %f %l.

Localization Properties

Platform-wide translations for custom property names — see Localize property names.

Notifications

Enable change icons in the repository tree turns on change indicators across the platform. With it on, each user gets a Show change icons in repository tree preference in their profile, with a choice between all objects and watched objects only.
