Assign licenses

A license decides what each user can do — view, collaborate, design, or administer the model. The License area shows what your organization owns and lets you hand it out to users and groups.

Prerequisites

  • The Manage Licenses server permission.

Steps

  1. Open Admin → License. License Management shows what's licensed — your platform extensions and per-license totals; License Assignment is where you hand licenses out. The tiles at the top show each license with its used and available counts ("Unlimited" when uncapped).
  2. On License Assignment, pick the user or group, check the licenses to give them, and click Assign Licenses. Assigning to a group covers every member.

The License Assignment page with usage tiles per license and one row per licensed user and group.

This page lists direct assignments only, one row per user or group. A member who is licensed through a group gets no row of their own here — the license sits on the group's row. To see what one user ended up with, open their Edit user page in User Management, or their own User Info profile tab: an inherited license reads "inherited from group group name" there, listed once for each group it comes from.

What each license level unlocks is in the License capability matrix; how licenses combine is covered in License mechanics.

Limitations

  • Assigning more users than a license allows puts it into overuse: the page flags License Limit Reached, and some users can't access Process DesignProcess Design The discipline of explicitly modeling business processes to document, analyze, and optimize them. In Process360 Live, process design is the authoring side that complements mining's data-driven view. until the overallocation is resolved — remove assignments or contact iGrafx for more licenses. Group assignments count every member, so a big group can tip a license into overuse at once.
