Process Intelligence Assistance — Pia
Pia (Process Intelligence Assistant) is the generative AI assistant built into iGrafx Process360 LiveProcess360 Live iGrafx's cloud platform for end-to-end process management — combining process design, mining, simulation, and automation in a single environment.. You talk to Pia in a chat panel, and it helps you draft diagrams, translate diagram text, and write the query behind a search or a report. You can also ask Pia to check an existing diagram against your modeling standards, or to point out risks, gaps, and opportunities to improve it.
Pia is part of the iGrafx Early Access program. An administrator has to turn it on before anyone can use it — see Turn Pia on. Not available on-premises (self-hosted).
Overview
Pia is one chat assistant that helps you with several tasks:
- Create a diagram — describe a process, and Pia drafts a BPMNBPMN An ISO/OMG standard graphical notation for modeling business processes. Process360 Live uses BPMN 2.0 for design and simulation artifacts. diagram you can review and finish. You can attach reference documents for Pia to read while it drafts. - Analyze a diagram — open the Pia panel on any diagram and ask questions about it. See Analyze a diagram with Pia.
- Translate a diagram — fill in missing translations for the shape textShape text The text displayed on a diagram shape. Type while a shape is selected to add or edit it. Part of the shape feature family alongside Shape Links and Shape Properties. across the languages a diagram supports. See Translate a diagram with Pia.
- Write a query — on the Search page and on report objects, you describe what you want to find in everyday language, and Pia writes the iGrafx Query Language (IQL) filter for it and runs it. See Use Pia for reports and search.
Because Pia is a generative AI assistant, it can be wrong — review what it produces before you rely on it.
Turn Pia on
An administrator enables Pia for the whole organization under Admin → Server Settings → AI Settings. Each toggle turns on one or more Pia features:

Two dependencies apply:
- Pia for Reports and Search also needs the New Reporting UI feature flag turned on.
- Document ingestion — attaching files while Pia drafts a diagram — has no toggle of its own. It becomes available once diagram creation is on and your platform holds the Pia Plus license. The AI Settings page shows whether that license is present.

Licenses and permissions
Most Pia features depend on what you can already do in the repository rather than on a separate Pia license. The one exception is document ingestion, which needs the Pia Plus license.

Data privacy
- Each Pia conversation belongs to the person who starts it and isn't shared with other users.
- A conversation and any files you attach are available only for the current session. Idle conversations are cleared automatically, and attached files aren't kept after the session ends.
- Pia is a generative AI assistant that makes mistakes. Each chat panel carries the reminder: "You are interacting with a generative AI assistant that makes mistakes. Check important info."
