WinHttp Error 12175
Symptom
Connecting the iGrafx Desktop Client to the platform fails with:
WinHttp Error 12175. A security error occurred
Cause
Over HTTPS, the Windows machine must fully trust the server certificate. Unlike a browser, which lets you proceed past an untrusted certificate, the iGrafx Desktop Client refuses to connect to an untrusted certificate and returns WinHttp Error 12175 instead.
Resolution
For testing — for example with a self-signed certificate — add the certificate to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store on the machine running the iGrafx Desktop Client. In production, make sure the full certificate chain is correct.
