What makes the Changes toggle appear
The Changes toggle appears on a diagram when the enterprise objects it describes have changed since the diagram was last checked in. This page lists which changes trigger it and which don't. For how the toggle behaves and how to clear it, see Described-object changes in diagrams.
When the toggle appears
If you have the See Unapproved item-role permission, the Changes toggle appears on both web and client diagrams when any enterprise object described by the diagram (or by a shape in it) is modified after the diagram is checked in. With no such changes, the toggle doesn't appear.
Changes that make the toggle appear
A change to a described object triggers the toggle, including:
- Name change
- Move
- Deletion
- Summary, Purpose, or Instruction change
- Relationship change
- Custom property change
- A Described By change from approval-time promotion (it happens after check-in)
- A change to any other object-level setting — for example, resource type, risk category, or work product layer
Changes that don't make the toggle appear
These changes to a described object don't trigger the toggle:
- Copying
- Permission change
- Administrative Owner change
- Performance indicator data
Other changes that don't trigger it:
- Renaming the diagram itself
- Changes to the subtypes of Risks and Risk Instances, Performance Indicators, Controls and Control Instances, Capabilities, Opportunities and Opportunity Instances, and Journeys
- An indirect relationship change on a described object that has a Supported By relationship to another object — changes to that other object don't affect the toggle in the originating diagram
